What Project Horizon collects, why, and your choices. Last updated June 2026.
Who we are
Project Horizon is a community-run competitive ladder for Forza Horizon 6 touge time attack. It is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Playground Games, Turn 10, or Microsoft. This policy explains how the website and desktop client handle your data.
What we collect
- Account details: your driver name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Gameplay data: run times, vehicle, performance class, and the position and input telemetry the desktop client records during a run, so times can be timed, verified, replayed, and ranked.
- Profile content you choose to add: a bio, avatar image, and favourite vehicle / class / course.
- Presence: your online / in-game status while you use the site or client.
- Technical data: your IP address and basic request metadata, used only for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- Run the ladder: time and verify your runs, build leaderboards, driver profiles, replays, and rank you.
- Account security: sign you in, verify your email with a one-time code, and protect against bots and abuse.
- Communication: transactional emails only (verification and account codes). We do not send marketing email.
Cookies
We use a single essential, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in, and an optional “remember this device” cookie if you choose it. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that run the platform: our database host (MongoDB Atlas), our application host, and our email provider (Resend), strictly to deliver the service. Public information you create, your driver name, rank, runs, and profile, is visible to anyone on the site by design.
Retention & your choices
- Your account and runs are kept while your account is active.
- You can edit your profile, change your email, or archive your runs at any time in account settings.
- To delete your account and associated data, contact us and we will remove it. Uninstalling the desktop client also clears its local data from your PC.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data; contact us to exercise them.
Children
The platform is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
